I've redesigned the blog and moved even further to what I think is the ideal blog layout. It's still a work in progress as I tinker with a couple features and generally make it easier to use.

The biggest change to the layout is really an oversimplification of the interface. My theory at this point is that nearly all traffic generated to the site is for a specific piece of content. All unrelated content is largely irrelevant. For the small number of cases where other content is relevant it's available, but harder to get to.
