The Real Delight
October 28, 2004
If you didn't have doubt, you could never be for sure.
If you didn't take things for granted, you'd have nothing to be thankful for.
If you didn't get hurt, you'd never heal.
If you didn't act fake, you'd never be real.
If you were never wrong, you'd never be right.
If you never missed it, you'd never have sight.
So go ahead, have doubt, take it for granted, get hurt, be wrong.
Write a poem, put it in a song.
It's all for the chance that you'll understand one thing.
You'll have no doubt, not just some inkling.
When you get those things you strive for, for which you fight.
The obstacles you conquer, are the real delight.
